AWS re:Invent 2020 Free and Virtual
Part 1: Register now for 3 full weeks of FOMO
Each year I decline to attend AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas. Why wouldn’t I go to the leading cloud technology conference of the year? No, I’m not crazy. It’s just too darn big. It’s bad enough trying to find speaker halls within a single conference center, let alone across the entire strip. 60,000 attendees. Nope. This year, I’m in. AWS has gone all virtual. No traveling. Pick and choose what sessions I want to attend…perfect! Today we will register. Next, I will create a deep dive article into the various tracks/sessions.
Registration is open today! Cost: Free!
Dates:
Monday, Nov 30th to Friday, Dec 18th, 2020.

Who attends re:Invent?
Based on the information provided to vendors and sponsors, this is the breakdown of who regularly attends Re:Invent. I would be very curious to follow up after the conference to see how the demographics have changed in the virtual format. More students, perhaps?
37% developers — Software developer / software development / systems architect
31% IT professional — IT administrators
12% IT managers — IT manager / IT director / IT supervisor
8% Business Decision Makers — CEO / CMO / COO / VP of X / LOB director
Conclusion
No excuses register today. Keep an eye out for my agenda deep-dive articles coming soon.
